God's Special Gift

There are many words that are used to describe God’s special gift.  Salvation, eternal life, born again and conversion are just a few.  All of these words mean that God desires that we have an active relationship with Him as Father and children.  Jesus Christ came to remove any barrier  that might prevent this relationship.  Below are the some statements that will help you draw closer to the Father in your daily experience.

• All of us are sinners and sin disrupts our relationship with God  Romans 3:23
• Continual and intentional sins lead to a permanent separation from God.  Romans 6:23
• Jesus died to remove any barrier caused by our sins.  Romans 5:8
• Receiving Jesus as Lord (Leader) and Savior (Liberator) repairs our relationship with God.  Romans 10:9-10

You can begin your life as a Christian by asking the Father to repair the relationship.  The following prayer is a guide:

“Father I confess that I am a sinner in that I have known what was right to do and I have frequently failed to do the right thing.  I accept your forgiveness offered through Jesus Christ.  I desire to live my life in a full relationship with you.  Today I begin my life in a new way.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
